"Castle Grove is a home, not an institution, in which
the highest standards of care in first class surroundings are
combined with an appreciation of the individual's needs".
We
are situated in the small, mid-Devon town of Bampton
close to picturesque Exmoor. Bampton is a consistent winner in
the Britain in Bloom Awards. Situated in four acres of beautiful
grounds, the listed Georgian building was once the home of Sir
Christopher and Lady Codrington.
Established
in 1984 as a Residential Home, Castle Grove now offers a full
range of care from Day Care, Sheltered
Independent Housing, Residential
and full Nursing Care.
The
high quality of trained staff has been recognised through Training
Awards, and more recently by the re-recognition as Investors
in People. This reflects in the day-to-day pro-active approach
to the welfare of our clients through Care Plans, Nutritional
Assessments, Activities and Entertainments, and Outings. Examples
of these are the Christmas Pantomine Concerts, Burns Night, Coach
Trips, Birthday Parties and many other “special” occasions. The
weekly sherry party with the Proprietors on Sunday before the
Silver-Service lunch serves to engender the close-knit family
atmosphere which the residents enjoy.
Other
activities such as Armchair Exercises, Flower Arranging, Art Activities
and Quizzes all serve to stimulate and encourage interest and
independence at all levels. Hairdressing, chiropody, aromatherapy
and “facials” are all available here.
We
welcome pets at Castle Grove and currently enjoy Dogs, Cats, and
Budgies. Added to this, the numerous birdbaths and birdfeeders
around ensure a plentiful supply of wildlife.
Residents
are encouraged to bring as much furniture and memorabilia as possible
to personalise their en-suite bed-sitting rooms. The level walk
into Bampton encourages independence and a choice of shops, tea-rooms,
post office and library. Our quarterly newsletter helps maintain
links with relatives and friends and reminds residents of future
events and celebrations.

latest official Inspection Reports for Castle Grove can be viewed

for Social Care Inspection website.
