MISSION STATEMENT

"To provide scope for independence in a mutually supportive environment and to deliver quality care by appreciating and responding to the changing needs of our clients".

Castle Grove is registered with the Exeter and North Devon Health Authority for 8 nursing beds in the following categories: Elderly, medical/chronic sick and Elderly, mentally ill (frail).

Our nurse manager is SUE THOMAS, RGN.

We employ 36 highly motivated staff, with a trained nurse on duty 24 hours a day. Castle Grove is committed to the training and development of all its staff, so that benefits may be passed on to our residents. We have recently been re-recognised for the third time as Investors in People.

We specialise in pro-active care. We do this by regularly monitoring and assessing each patient. Bampton enjoys a dynamic up-to-date GP service which reviews our patients’ needs at least weekly. In this way we can address the individual’s care and medical needs and ensure prompt attention.

Being a small and select home offering high quality nursing care, we are able to deliver palliative care to the chronically sick patient.

Our philosophy of care ensures that our patients’ quality of life at all stages is of primary importance. We do this by supplying high quality nutritional meals using local fresh farm produce, creating interesting meals. We also make a special feature of birthdays, special occasions and feasts.

Castle Grove is renowned for its excellent cuisine - the proprietor was for many years a chef at The Dorchester Hotel, London and is also Swiss trained and oversees the high standard of menus and special meals.

Castle Grove continues to organise a wide range of activities for residents, future events being published in our “in-house” magazine. On a regular basis we hold exercise classes, art activities, musical entertainment and every Sunday, a sherry party. Castle Grove residents have enjoyed many experiences with us, for example:

  • Staff christmas pantomine
  • Horse-Racing at Taunton
  • Day outing to Tarr Steps on Exmoor
  • Picnics at Knightshayes Court
  • Duck Race, Church Fête

In addition to all that is provided at Castle Grove, some additional facilities are: Hairdressing, Chiropody, Aromatherapy, Physiotherapy and Dentistry

Garden Party to celebrate the opening of the new summerhouse.

Day Trip to the West Somerset Railway.
