Castle
Grove is registered with the Devon County Council for 13 residential
places in the following categories: I MP(E) and PH(E)
Our
nurse manager is SUE THOMAS, RGN.
We
employ 36 highly motivated staff, with a trained nurse on duty
24 hours a day. Castle Grove is committed to the training
and development of all its staff, so that benefits may be passed
on to our residents. We have recently been re-recognised
as Investors in People.
We
specialise in pro-active care. We do this by regularly
monitoring and assessing each patient. Bampton enjoys
a dynamic up-to-date modern GP service which reviews our patients
needs at least weekly. In this way we can address the
individual’s care and medical needs and ensure prompt attention.
Being
a small and select home offering high quality residential and
nursing care, we are able to deliver palliative care to the
chronically sick patient.
Our
philosophy of care ensures that our patients’ quality of life
at all stages is of primary importance. We do this by
supplying high quality nutritional meals using local fresh farm
produce, creating interesting meals. Residents are encouraged
to bring their own furniture and memorabilia. Pets are
also encouraged, and where necessary, help is available to walk
and feed them. We also make a special feature of birthdays,
special occasions and feasts. Flat access into Bampton
encourages independence and a useful choice of shops, post offices,
library, tea rooms etc.
Castle
Grove is renowned for its excellent cuisine - the proprietor
was for many years a chef at The Dorchester Hotel, London and
is also Swiss trained and oversees the high standard of menus
and special meals. We were finalists in BBC Radio 4’s Food Programme
Awards 2002.
